Plymouth Historical Museum

History Kids Kamp
Kids will spend the day recreating what life was like during the war, including dressing in period clothing, getting their picture taken, as well as a chore race consisting of old-fashioned tasks from the mid-1800s. A scavenger hunt will entertain and educate while kids search for clues to solve a puzzle. Children will be able to chat with Civil War soldier re-enactors who can answer questions, demonstrate marching, and much more.

"ASAP" Art Camp (ages 7-12)
ASAP introduces children to the visual arts with traditional training, exploring techniques and media, and by "trying something new" in the inside and outside studios.

Jazz Boot Camp (ages 8-12)
For 15 days, 5 hours per day, students will be immersed in jazz music enhanced by one-on-one instruction. They will focus on instrument technique, repertoire, improvisation and developing the feel for performing in a group. The instructors are some of metro Detroit's top jazz professionals.

Commedia dell’arte (students grades 5-8)
Come explore the world of the highly physical comic masked form of theatre from Italy. This camp let’s students create memorable characters through the tools of commedia dell'arte and play out wonderful tales of trickery between master, servant, men and women!

African Arts
Explore the many forms of art from Africa! Kids will get creative with visual art projects inspired by different African countries. But that's not all!! They will also learn traditional drumming and songs from West Africa.

Staff Life on the Estate
Job security and special amenities were bestowed upon the large and loyal staff that kept this substantial estate running. Go behind the scenes to visit where they lived and areas where they worked, including parts of the basement and third floor.

The Art of Collecting
The secrets of early 20th Century collecting revealed! Delve into untold stories of the great art at Ford House and the individuals who helped the Fords amass their impressive collection.

Cotswold Architecture
Examine English architectural styles, the picturesque Cotswold region and how the brilliant architect Albert Kahn created a family home for the Fords.

Distinguished Interiors
Explore the eclectic treasures that Edsel and Eleanor Ford collected, including antique furniture, china and silver along with their stunning assortment of artwork. 

Modern Style: On the Cutting Edge
While many wealthy men looked backward with a nostalgic eye, Edsel Ford embraced the future and was a known trendsetter in modern design. Explore his relationship with designer Walter Dorwin Teague and the creation of Ford House’s modern rooms.
